Bring a BitePubs that let you bring food

Fish and chipsCurryA picnic from the market

Bring the chips. They'll pour the pint.

Pubs where you can bring your own food and sit down with it. Every listing says how sure we are, with the evidence and its date where there is some, so you know whether to walk in with dinner or ask at the bar first.

Run a pub?

Put yours on the list

If customers are welcome to bring food in, tell us and, once we've checked, we'll add your pub. It takes a couple of minutes, and a pub's own word counts as Confirmed. The same form updates a listing or takes a pub off.

Add your pub

The form is on GitHub and needs a free account. What you write there is public, so leave out personal phone numbers and email addresses. We check each pub before it goes on.

How we check

Confirmed

The pub has told us itself, or its own listing or a published guide says in writing, that outside food is welcome. Each card says where that comes from, and quotes and links it where it is written down.

Reported

A visitor says the landlord was happy for them to bring food in. Likely, but it rests on one account.

Worth asking

No kitchen and no word either way. Pubs without food often don't mind, but nobody has said so. Ask at the bar.

Policies change. A new landlord can end one, and a pub that starts serving food usually stops allowing outside food. Ask at the bar, or ring ahead, before you arrive with dinner.

Each town's page says what it was built from and when it was checked. Most pubs were checked against what is published about them; where we have checked with a pub itself, its card says so.

Know a pub that should be listed, or one that has changed its mind? Tell us on GitHub. A pub that would rather not be listed can say so there too.
